Kicking off my 2018 challenge of watching 50 shows is the shortest show on the list, but possibly the most feel good. My cheeks are kind of hurting from the constant smile I wore on my face.
“Though they couldn’t be any more different, love has managed to blossom between Hajime Tsunashi, a hardcore otaku who shuts himself in at home while making a living off his blog, and his wife Kaoru—a hard-working office lady who, in contrast, is fairly ordinary, albeit somewhat of a crazy drunk. As this unlikely couple discovers, love is much more than just a first kiss or a wedding; the years that come afterward in the journey of marriage brings with it many joys as well as challenges.
Whether due to their quirky personalities or the peculiar people surrounding them, Hajime and Kaoru find themselves caught up in a variety of baffling and ridiculous antics. But despite the struggles they face, the love that ties them together spurs them to move forward and strive to become better people in order to bring their partner happiness.” (From MyAnimeList)
ICUWMHIS does exactly what it says on the tin, and is a fluffy Slice of Life about a couple who could not be more different, yet are still madly in love. From the outside, they appear to be total opposites, but deep down, I think they’re a lot more similar than they let on.
There isn’t a lot of depth to the show, really. The whole thing can be consumed in about half an hour, and there is no difficult understandings, only quickfire gags. There is a ton of references to other anime (thanks to the Otaku husband), so it’s a lot of fun trying to guess them when the censor catches! Some references may be difficult to catch if you’re not too familiar with Japanese culture, but luckily the show is enough of a treasure to make up for it.
For 3 minutes an episode, there’s no excuse to miss out on this. It’s a very light-hearted portrayal of a realistic love story, and just short enough to take it all without needing a filling.
My rating: 7/10
1/50 Anime completed.
Until next time!
I love this one. I had a really bad day a while back and needed something that was only funny and this was perfect. No long episodes and no plots or anything, just snippets of silliness. Perfect.

This anime is great. Many references, cool gags, and I had a fun time watching it. It’s not deep, but it’s not like you expect that from a 3 min anime.
